FAQFOR TOURISTS D - Why should tourists visit the Museum of Flowers?
R - First of all because the place is charming, kissed by sun, immersed in the woods of a nature reserve and surrounded by large spaces where to walk, play and enjoy oneself. Than because inside the Museum there are many possibilities to learn, to get curious about or be amazed by the various aspects of nature or by both big and small secrets of the coloured world of flowers. Last but not least, the Museum is and “open window” over the territories of Torre Alfina and Acquapendente, to better know their beauties, their people and local traditions, like the famous feast of the Pugnaloni. - D - Can people buy plants, flowers or seeds? R - No, the Museum has no nursery garden nor flower shop. Yet, we are working on a project for preparing a small greenhouse to permit a few special flowers to be seen “live” inside the museum (not only on the trails around) and we would also like to produce some seeds of autochthonous, aromatic or officinal plants, to distribute or sell to lovers. D - Can people buy souvenirs? R - Yes, the Museum has a shop where you can buy souvenirs created by local artisans and also organic products like jams, honey, oil, soaps as well as postcards, books and guides over the Museum, the territory and the Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve. If you wish, you can take a coffee, drink something or crunch a small snack. D - Is it possible to reach the Museum by car? R - The Museum is a little more than 2 km of country road away from the village of Torre Alfina. The road is large, the road-bed is good, with no sharp bends and a car can run along it in any season. In front of the Museum gate a large square allows manoeuvres and parking. |
